After reading reviews from SG Brides, we’ve decided to go FCC to view the ballroom.
Made an appointment with the Catering sales manager Stephanie Ong for the site inspection.
We are, or rather I am kinda held back by the exterior of FCC.
It is kinda old from outside.
When we went into the lobby, still look old but i think the hotel is trying hard to reframe itself from being too old by putting some modernised seats at the lobby.
We meet the friendly Stephanie and she showed us to the Grand Ballroom at Level 5.
The lift is old by the way.
But the ballroom level is privatised.
If the wedding is to be hold there, level 5 will be exclusively the couple’s area.
The foyer where cocktail is to be served is big and spacious.
The Grand Ballroom is nice. Big and spacious as well.
There’s a function going on but not a wedding so can’t really see how the wedding decoration will be like.
Steph told us there will be a wedding holding on 1st Aug.
Maybe we shoud go and take a peek on the actual wedding decoration.
She told us that there will be a wedding fair at FCC in Sept 2007. Watch this out ya!
Steph also showed us the various wedding favors and there are quite a number to choose.
I like the coasters ya!
FCC also works with T Dragon for printing of wedding invitation as well.
There are 3 themes provided.
2. La Vie En Rose Theme (French style)

3. Oriental Theme
There’s another nicer set up for oriental theme apart from this which is taken at another smaller room – Canton Room.

Hubby like 2nd theme and i kinda like Starry theme

We went to view the suite on 16th floor. Think I’ve expecting too high.
It’s big but not as you know not as “posh” as I read and think…keke
But it really has good view and overall it’s nice.
We are KIV-ing this and has blocked our wedding date.
Going Merchant Court and hopefully Carlton for more views before making any decision.
Our Verdict:
The Grand Ballroom can cater 48 max tables!
And it’s pillarless. It’s privatised with ample reception space! You only need a minimum table of 30!
If you do not mind the exterior of the hotel, and heard that the food is relatively nice there, why not!

I’ve done a photoshoot for a couple with the starry night theme… a good place to shoot. .the light panels make it great for photography
Take a look at http://livestudios.sg/2007/12/03/wedding-of-dennis-poh-cheng/ for some of the photos..
Thanks for the info! I agreed FCC ballroom is nice with nice theme but we decided to go for Carlton Hotel.
The Digital Guestbook is coolz… Kinda special. Haha but we do not have extra budget for that. Keke..
